Willsboro, N.Y. (February 20th, 2015) — On March 21st, 2015, the Champlain Valley Senior Community, a senior assisted living community at the former site of the Willsboro school, will host a ceremony to honor and celebrate the history of the Willsboro basketball program through the years. The former gymnasium is now converted into an elegant, chandeliered dining space for the senior residents in need of assisted living. In this elegant space, one simply needs to gaze upwards to see the many artifacts remaining as reminders of the athletic history of the space. Although senior group exercise programs are the extent of the athleticism practiced in the current space, the original scoreboard which tallied wins and losses of years of basketball still stands. During the ceremony, two backboards and a championship coaches' jacket will be officially dedicated to honor the rich history of Willsboro basketball programs. Players and coaches will be recognized for their achievements and contributions and the now vintage athletic sport jackets they once wore will soon adorn the halls for posterity.

The Willsboro Basketball Dedication Celebration is a collaborative effort between the alumni association, the town of Willsboro, and Champlain Valley Senior Community. Anyone interested in participating in the planning portion of the dedication ceremony, or who would like to attend this free and open to the public event, please contact Danielle Colozza, 518-817-9108, ext. 411.
